Nigeria’s home-based Super Eagles B team delivered a thrilling performance, defeating Ghana’s Black Galaxies 3-1 in the second leg of their African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifier. The match took place at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo.The Super Eagles B scored three goals in the first half, securing a dominant win. Sodiq Ismail, Nduka Junior, and Isaac Saviour found the back of the net, leaving Ghana’s Black Galaxies reeling.

Aggregate Win Secures CHAN QualificationThe 3-1 win ensured a 3-1 aggregate victory for the Super Eagles B, booking their spot in the 2025 CHAN tournament. This marks Nigeria’s return to the competition after missing the last two editions. Nigeria’s home-based Super Eagles B team delivered a thrilling performance, defeating Ghana’s Black Galaxies 3-1 in the second leg of their African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifier. The Nigerians’ relentless pressure paid off, with Ismail opening the scoring in the 19th minute.

Nduka Junior doubled the lead four minutes later, capitalizing on a poorly cleared corner kick. Isaac Saviour then made it 3-0, rounding the goalkeeper after a well-timed pass. Stephen Amankuna scored Ghana’s solitary goal in the 70th minute, providing a consolation for the visitors. The victory marked the first time the Super Eagles B have defeated their Ghanaian counterparts in three attempts. The team’s jubilation was evident as they celebrated their CHAN qualification.The 2025 CHAN tournament will be co-hosted by Tanzania, Kenya, and Uganda from February 1 to February 28. The competition is reserved exclusively for professional footballers playing in their country’s domestic leagues.
