
Fashion designer Oluwaseun Kuforiji has officially set a new Guinness World Record for the longest sewing marathon. Guinness World Records confirmed his achievement after he hand-stitched 22 items over an impressive 106 hours, 55 minutes, and 20 seconds. The record-breaking “sew-a-thon” took place in Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State. Oluwaseun stated that his goal was to showcase the art of fashion craftsmanship and inspire creativity through his accomplishment. Reflecting on the experience, he described it as a true test of endurance and skill.
He emphasized that the record was not just about the duration but also a demonstration of dedication and belief in one’s craft. “Officially a Guinness World Record holder! 106 hours, 55 minutes, and 20 seconds of non-stop sewing—needle and thread in hand, passion in my heart!” he announced excitedly. He highlighted key moments in the challenge, including crafting a full Agbada in just six hours and completing a total of 18 outfits. “This achievement goes beyond breaking a record; it’s a testament to perseverance, craftsmanship, and the power of unwavering dedication,” he added.
