Nigerian street-pop artist Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has turned down a ₦100 million offer to physically confront social media critic Martins Otse, better known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), stating that he would only consider the challenge for a ₦1 billion fee.

The clash between the two personalities intensified after Portable publicly criticised VDM for his frequent attacks on the administration of President Bola Tinubu. What began as a war of words has since evolved into diss tracks and a highly publicised online rivalry.

In a widely circulated video, Portable dismissed the ₦100 million offer as inadequate, claiming such amounts are already common among his earnings from fans. He declared that only a ₦1 billion offer would tempt him to engage physically.

“That ₦100 million, my fans give it to me. ₦100 million is small for me to fight VDM. Let them give me one billion, I will fight him and beat him,” he said. He further added, “If anybody can drop ₦1 billion, I will fight him. Someone you can’t hold, you are now asking me to fight and beat him. You are scared of him, you can’t jail him.” The ongoing back-and-forth has kept social media buzzing, as both sides continue to provoke reactions from their supporters and the general public.
