President Tinubu Hails Super Falcons, Lookman, Nnadozie on CAF Awards

President Bola Tinubu has extended his warmest congratulations to Ademola Lookman, Chiamaka Nnadozie, and the Super Falcons on their impressive wins at the CAF awards. Lookman, the Super Eagles forward, took home the prestigious 2024 CAF Men’s African Footballer of the Year award. President Tinubu praised Lookman’s exceptional talent and dedication to the sport.

Additionally, President Tinubu commended Chiamaka Nnadozie, the Super Falcons goalkeeper, on winning the CAF Women’s Goalkeeper of the Year award. He also celebrated the Super Falcons’ achievement as the Women’s National Team of the Year.

The President expressed his pride in these athletes, describing them as worthy ambassadors who embody the essential Nigerian spirit. He believes their recognition by Africa’s highest football authority will inspire upcoming athletes to pursue their dreams. “He affirms that their determination, discipline and confidence underscore the administration’s resolve to build a better Nigeria where everyone thrives and succeeds.”

The statement quotes Tinubu as saying, ‘‘These athletes embody the essential Nigerian Spirit. They signpost the best in us as a nation. Let no one ever write us off. I am incredibly proud of them.‘‘Thank you for making Nigeria proud and keeping our flag flying. ‘‘Thank you for winning medals for Nigeria both at home and abroad. You will win more in the future.”
