Speed Darlington has addressed the NAPTIP summons days after missing the scheduled appearance over a viral video in which he was accused of making claims about involvement with a minor.
In an online statement, the US-based artist clarified that the video was fictional and intended solely for entertainment, not based on any real-life incident. He emphasized that the content should not be interpreted as a confession or depiction of actual events.
While maintaining his innocence, he acknowledged the public outrage and stated that the reaction was due to a misinterpretation of what he described as a joke taken too far. He extended an apology for the controversy, noting that his intentions were never harmful but aimed at entertainment, and that the content was created solely for social media attention.

Though absent on the originally scheduled date of May 30, 2025, the rapper proposed June 26, 2025, as a new date to appear before the agency if further clarification is required.
