Temi Otedola, daughter of billionaire businessman Femi Otedola, has explained why she decided to take her husband’s name after marrying singer Mr Eazi. In an interview with BBC Pidgin, Temi said the decision was influenced by her new status as a married woman. She stressed that it was a personal choice while also respecting women who prefer to keep their maiden names.
She added that maintaining privacy in her relationship helps her shape her own narrative and decide how and when to share it. “I’m now a married woman, the obvious thing for me is to take my husband’s name. But it’s my personal choice. I also respect a woman’s ability to choose. Moving in silence allows you to build the story you want and share it when and how you’re ready,” she said.
Temi noted that this approach helps her maintain control over her story and avoid external pressures. Her love journey with Mr Eazi began with a civil ceremony in Monaco, followed by a traditional Yoruba wedding in Dubai, and later a white wedding in Iceland’s scenic landscapes.
