Atiku Abubakar’s Tribute
Former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, expressed his sorrow over the loss of Hajia Dada. In a heartfelt statement, he referred to her as a “mother of multitudes” and recounted how he adopted her as his own mother following the loss of his biological mother.
Atiku’s statement read, “I am deeply saddened by the passing of Hajia Aya Dada Yar’Adua, the mother of my late mentor, Tafida Shehu Yar’Adua, the late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua, and Senator Abdulaziz Yar’Adua, among others. In the absence of my beloved mother, I embraced Hajiya Dada as a mother. Indeed, she was a mother to many, as her home was always open, welcoming everyone with love and care. Her absence will be profoundly felt.
“On behalf of the Atiku Abubakar family and our team, I extend my deepest condolences to the Yar’Adua family, friends, and associates over the loss of this remarkable woman. My thoughts also go out to the government and people of Katsina State. May her sins be forgiven and may she be granted Aljannah Firdausi.”
