A 100-level student of Taraba State University (TSU), Jalingo, identified as Comfort Jimtop from Takum Local Government Area, was found dead on Friday in her boyfriend’s apartment.

The Mass Communication student’s body was discovered in the afternoon with empty alcohol bottles beside the bed where she lay. The incident occurred in a compound housing 15 tenants, including her boyfriend, who, along with the others, fled immediately after the discovery.

Taraba State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Leshen James, confirmed the incident, stating that efforts were ongoing to track down the boyfriend, identified as Emmanuel Shata, and the other tenants. “When our men arrived at the residence, nobody was found. The boyfriend and other tenants had abandoned the house,” James said. He added that investigations had commenced to uncover the circumstances surrounding Comfort’s death.
