The Katsina State Hisbah Board has imposed a blanket ban on all nightclub activities across the state, effective immediately. This decision is grounded in Islamic principles and the need to uphold moral values.
The directive, issued on February 17, 2025, instructs nightclub owners to cease operations in order to curb immoral practices, protect societal values, and address security concerns in Katsina city and its environs. Hisbah Commander General, Dr. Aminu Usman (Abu Ammar), has warned that non-compliance will result in strict penalties.
To ensure full compliance with the order, the Hisbah Board has enlisted the support of relevant security agencies. These agencies include the Katsina State Commissioner for Internal Security, the Nigeria Police Force, the Department of State Services (DSS), and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).
This move is part of Hisbah’s broader efforts to promote a morally upright society, where residents conduct their lives in accordance with Islamic principles and values. By banning nightclub activities, the Hisbah Board aims to create a more wholesome environment that aligns with the state’s moral and religious standards.
