As Nigerians struggle with hunger, the Federal Government has introduced new requirements to purchase 50kg bags of milled rice at a subsidized price of N40,000.

To access this offer, individuals will need to provide their National Identification Number (NIN) and, ATM card for registration and payment.

To receive their subsidized rice, beneficiaries must undergo a separate verification process conducted by government officials after completing the initial steps.

In Abuja, individuals must visit the Nigeria Agricultural Insurance Corporation (NAIC) with the necessary documents to facilitate the process.

Once payment and documentation are verified, beneficiaries will collect their 50kg bag of milled rice at the Central Business Area, adjacent to the First Bank Branch near NNPC Towers.

Senator Abubakar Kyari, Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, acknowledged the challenges of distributing this essential staple during these difficult times, ensuring measures are in place for a smooth process.

He stated, “The Federal Government is aware of the potential challenges associated with the sales of an important staple such as rice, and has deployed a multi-disciplinary machinery of government to ensure the transparency, wider reach, and success of this exercise.”
