A heated online feud has erupted between Grammy Award-winning singer Burna Boy and popular socialite Cubana Chief Priest. The drama began when Burna Boy took to Instagram to describe Cubana Chief Priest as the “Owerri version of Rick Ross,” a plus-sized American rapper.

Earlier in the week, Burna Boy had posted another message on Instagram, implying that pop star Davido was living a fake life and advising him to desist from doing so in 2025.

Describing Chief Priest as “azaman” a street slang for fraudster, Burna wrote, “No forget say you be Azaman o And dem don gbe your plug wey him name na Omo Igbo for ATL and na u be next #OWerriRickyrozay.”

Not backing down, Cubana Chief Priest fired back, implying that Burna Boy won the Grammy Award by being intimate with embattled American entertainer P Diddy. He wrote, “Diddy oil the fastest way to PTSD. You never see anything, you and your bend down collect Grammy.”

He further recounted how he paid Burna Boy N1 million in 2018 to perform as a “backup singer” at his birthday party. He wrote, “Owerri Rick Ross, what a blessing! See where dem dey rate me put. Me & Rosay #CpNosmall.”He continued, “2018 na 1m naira I pay you to perform as back up artist for my birthday. I get pictures and videos where you dey perform for me. I go lie for you?”

Cubana Chief Priest shared videos and pictures from the event, including one where Burna Boy referred to him as “egede,” a street slang for a particular cult group. Cubana Chief Priest continued to attack Burna Boy, writing, “We don dey chop this money before you meet us for queue. Be humble small boy.”Maintaining that he had been waiting for a long time for this moment to come, Cubana Chief Priest alleged that Burna Boy was a debtor.

Burna Boy responded to the allegation, insisting that he always paid in full for his properties and challenging Cubana Chief Priest to provide evidence of his debts. Cubana Chief Priest dared Burna Boy to come out with his fleet of cars to determine who was wealthier.

Burna Boy posted a video of a man claiming to be Cubana Chief Priest’s brother, saying he worked as a phone repairer, and offered to give him $30,000.Cubana Chief Priest responded by offering millions of naira to a fan who was allegedly kicked by Burna Boy during a recent performance.

The online feud between Burna Boy and Cubana Chief Priest has sparked mixed reactions from fans and followers, with some calling for them to end the fight.
