The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has apprehended Lagos socialite Emeka Okonkwo Daniel, popularly known as E-Money, over alleged Naira abuse.

He was reportedly taken into custody on Monday night at his Lagos residence. The allegations involve spraying US dollars at a social function, a violation of Nigeria’s Foreign Exchange Act, as well as defacing foreign currency.

EFCC has initiated preliminary investigations and intends to prosecute him after completing its inquiries. E-Money has since been moved to Abuja for further questioning by EFCC officials.

The incident in question allegedly occurred during a social gathering in Lagos, though specific details about the event remain unclear. While EFCC spokesperson Dele Oyewale did not offer a comment, sources within the agency confirmed the arrest and ongoing probe.
