The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has disclaimed any connection to a fraudulent Sterling Bank account (number 8520641017) allegedly requesting N15,700 from candidates to reschedule the UTME.

JAMB spokesperson Fabian Benjamin, in a statement issued on Thursday, warned that the account titled “Copyrightwriter Personal J Rescheduling Flw” is being used to defraud candidates who missed the examination.

He stated that certain individuals were falsely collecting money under the guise of offering exam rescheduling services and clarified that these persons are not linked to JAMB or any government body.

He emphasized that the provided bank details are fake and intended solely for fraud, urging Sterling Bank to act promptly against the perpetrators.Benjamin noted that the matter has been reported to security agencies and investigations are ongoing to track down those behind the scheme.

He reiterated that JAMB does not reschedule exams for candidates who missed their tests for personal reasons, and clarified that only candidates who faced biometric verification issues may be allowed to retake the exam free of charge after proper vetting. He concluded by urging candidates to remain alert, avoid falling for scams, and report suspicious activity immediately.
