Nollywood stars Funke Akindele and Toyin Abraham sparked reactions online after an awkward moment at a recent movie premiere. A viral video from the premiere of The Return of Arinzo, produced by Iyabo Ojo, captured an uncomfortable interaction between the two actresses.

The incident happened on Sunday, March 29, 2026, at Balmoral Hall, Federal Palace Hotel in Victoria Island, Lagos, during the star-studded event. In the clip making rounds online, Toyin Abraham is seen approaching Funke Akindele and attempting to greet her while kneeling.

Funke, who features in the movie, appeared not to respond, keeping a straight face and not acknowledging the gesture. The moment has since sparked mixed reactions, with some viewers calling it a snub, while others believe it may have been a misunderstanding caused by the busy and chaotic nature of such events.

Both actresses are among Nollywood’s top box-office stars and are often compared due to their successful film projects and fan bases.Despite frequent rivalry narratives among fans, they have shared friendly moments publicly in recent years, including dancing and interacting at events. So far, neither Funke Akindele, Toyin Abraham, nor Iyabo Ojo has issued any official statement regarding the viral clip.
