Nigerian Afrobeats star Davido has unveiled plans for his first music festival in the United Kingdom, marking a new milestone in his expanding international career. The event, titled “Davido & Friends Festival,” will take place on 14 August 2026 at the historic Crystal Palace Bowl in London, an open-air venue with a capacity of about 15,000. Davido is set to headline the festival and curate the lineup himself, promising a showcase of Afrobeats and global music culture.
He shared the announcement on his X page, inviting fans to register for early ticket access. In a video message, the 33-year-old singer addressed his London audience, saying he would headline an outdoor summer show and encouraged fans to attend with their friends. The announcement sparked excitement among fans and music industry observers, many describing the festival as a significant moment for Afrobeats in the UK. Organisers said pre-sale tickets will be available from 26 March 2026 at 10 a.m. GMT, while general ticket sales begin on 27 March at the same time.
The festival is part of the Palace Bowl Presents concert series, an initiative designed to revive the historic venue, which has hosted major performances since the 1970s. Other artists scheduled in the series include British bands Bastille and The Wombats, who will perform on 13 August. The development adds to a busy period for Davido, who has continued to strengthen his global presence after the success of his 2023 album Timeless. The project delivered international hits such as Unavailable and achieved chart success across several countries. His ongoing 5ive Alive Tour across Europe, along with a scheduled performance at Coachella 2026, further highlights his growing influence on the global music scene.
