Nollywood actor Zubby Michael has opened up about why he chose to remain single during the early stages of his acting journey, saying the decision was necessary to stay focused on his ambitions.Speaking in an interview with Broadway TV, the actor revealed that he intentionally stayed away from romantic relationships while trying to establish himself in the movie industry, especially during his struggling days in Asaba.
According to him, becoming emotionally attached at that point in his life could have distracted him from his goals and affected his progress in the entertainment industry. Zubby Michael noted that his decision had nothing to do with hating women, whom he described as beautiful, but was mainly about maintaining discipline and focusing on the right priorities at the time.
He said, “I’ve been scar£d of women, I’ve been working hard but now I want to give it a chance. Since I dey work I no…- cause it can d£str0y this thing. Maybe had it been I get girlfriend I fit no reach here. Cause if you disturb me m£nt@lly it will affect my work. The actor added that relationships come with emotional responsibilities that can influence a person’s productivity if not properly managed. He further stated that he now feels more prepared for love and commitment, especially after attaining a level of financial and personal stability, including owning a house. Emphasising the importance of timing, Zubby Michael said his main focus during his younger years was building a strong foundation before making room for romance.
“So as a young man, it’s not that women are b@d, they’re beautiful. But there’s time for everything. Conquer the first stage of your life. See, now I get my house. Now I can say, okay, let’s see how it goes. No be that time wey I dey Asaba dey work hard. I go come claim say I love you, you and who dey love that time? There’s time for everything.
