Timaya has returned with a brand new track titled βKontrol,β teaming up with his longtime musical peer Duncan Mighty. This latest release marks a welcome reunion for the two South-South stars, whose distinct creative synergy has been a favorite among listeners for years. In this song, Timaya sings about the feeling of completely letting his guard down for love, describing a partner who has captivated his thoughts and emotions. Rather than focusing on grand, superficial displays, the track highlights the beauty of loyalty and mutual affection built through small, everyday moments of devotion. Duncan Mighty enhances the record by bringing his signature vocal warmth to the track, blending smoothly into a production rich with Afropop and Highlife rhythms, rhythmic guitar loops, and a catchy, easy-to-sing chorus that fits right into a lively party or a quiet night in.
Reflecting on the deeper meaning behind the release, Timaya shared that the track serves as an anthem for recognizing and valuing the people who truly support you, noting that when genuine love comes along, it deserves to be protected and mirrored in return. The collaboration adds another chapter to Timayaβs impressive two-decade legacy of merging dancehall, Afrobeats, and traditional Niger Delta sounds into massive hits. By joining forces once again with Duncan Mighty, he taps back into a familiar artistic connection that highlights their shared musical roots. Listeners can find the new single available today across all major digital music networks, distributed through ONErpm.
