Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie has been revealed as the headlining figure for the 2025 edition of the Things Fall Apart Festival, a week-long tribute to Chinua Achebe’s enduring literary influence.According to an Instagram update from the Centre for Memories on Tuesday, the event is set to run from June 29 to July 5, 2025, at their Enugu facility.

“We are screaming with excitement because the iconic Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie — globally celebrated novelist, feminist, and one of the most powerful literary voices of our time — is coming home to headline the Things Fall Apart Festival 2025, taking place from June 29 to July 5 at the Centre for Memories, Enugu!

“Adichie, fresh from her worldwide tour for her new book “Dream Count,” joins us to honour one of her greatest inspirations, the legendary Chinua Achebe, the pre-eminent storyteller whose words redefined African literature and consciousness,” the statement read.

The organisers noted that Adichie will explore the intersections of narrative, cultural heritage, and the ongoing relevance of identity and history through the festival’s theme: “Masculine, Feminine, Human: The Dialogue of Complements in Things Fall Apart.”Planned activities include theatrical productions, interactive digital storytelling, curated art displays, film showcases, guided memory tours, youth-focused events, and a reconstructed Umuofia village experience.
