The transfer saga involving Victor Osimhen is set to continue after Napoli rejected a third offer from Galatasaray to sign the striker. Osimhen’s camp has also accused the Italian club of attempting to force a move to Saudi Arabian side Al Hilal. Nigerian journalist Buchi Laba, who has been closely tracking the situation, reported via X that Napoli turned down Galatasaray’s latest offer to pay the €75 million release clause. The bid was reportedly rejected due to the proposed payment structure, which involved several installments over multiple years. Napoli are said to prefer a lump sum payment within a shorter time frame.
Top transfer insiders Gianluca Di Marzio and Nicolo Schira also reported that Napoli have requested bank guarantees from Galatasaray before proceeding with the deal. According to Laba, Napoli’s actions suggest they are deliberately frustrating the Turkish club’s attempts and instead favouring a more financially beneficial offer from Al Hilal, who are willing to pay the full €75 million upfront.
“They’re frustrating the deal intentionally and want to push him to Saudi Arabia (Al Hilal),” Laba stated. He added that Osimhen is not considering a move to Saudi Arabia and has expressed a strong desire to join Galatasaray. Gokhan Inler, a close friend of Osimhen, confirmed the striker is focused solely on the Turkish club.
Osimhen himself has shared a video on social media with his daughter chanting Galatasaray slogans, signalling his preference. However, the situation is likely to drag on, as Laba also reported that Osimhen does not intend to return to Napoli’s pre-season training camp on Tuesday, July 15, despite being under contract until June 2026.
“He also made it very clear to Napoli that he won’t report for pre-season and doesn’t want to play for Napoli anymore,” Laba wrote. The €75 million release clause is set to expire on Tuesday, after which Napoli will have full control over determining Osimhen’s transfer value.
