Nigeria’s national power grid collapsed again on Thursday, November 7, at 11:20 a.m., plunging the country into darkness and sparking widespread frustration and outrage on social media. This is the second collapse in just one week and the twelfth in eleven months, raising serious concerns about the stability of Nigeria’s energy infrastructure.

The recent grid failures have led to renewed calls for Minister of Power Adebayo Adelabu’s resignation, with citizens questioning the government’s ability to provide a reliable power supply. Nigerians are fed up with the recurring outages and are demanding immediate reforms and accountability. The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) attributed the previous grid failure on Tuesday to “lines and generator trips,” but the exact cause of Thursday’s blackout remains unknown.

TCN has yet to release a formal statement, leaving Nigerians eager for answers. In an effort to address the crisis, Minister Adelabu received an investigative report on the frequent grid collapses on Wednesday, November 6.

However, the report’s findings have not been made public, further fueling citizens’ frustration. The continuous grid failures have had a devastating impact on businesses and households across the country, highlighting the urgent need for a comprehensive overhaul of Nigeria’s electricity infrastructure.
