Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) have announced the signing of Nigerian forward Rasheedat Ajibade on a two-year deal. Ajibade, captain of the Super Falcons, joins the French giants after departing Atlético de Madrid at the end of last season.
The 24-year-old played a crucial role in Nigeria’s 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) victory, where she was named Player of the Tournament after scoring once and providing two assists to help the team clinch a record 10th title.
“I’m deeply honoured to be joining Paris Saint-Germain, a top-drawer club in Europe. This is a major step for me, and I’m committed to giving my all to help PSG win titles and to inspire young footballers, be they in Nigeria or elsewhere,” Ajibade said after sealing her move. She will team up with compatriot Jennifer Echegini as PSG look to strengthen their squad and reclaim the Ligue 1 Féminine crown, last won in 2021.
