The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) conducted a raid on a Lagos shrine, arresting Gbenga Abiodun and Sunday Abiodun for allegedly storing illicit drugs.
According to Femi Babafemi, NDLEA’s spokesperson, the operation yielded jumbo bags of Ghanaian Loud and cannabis from the Alfa Beach shrine in Ajah.
“NDLEA operatives in Lagos on Friday 25th October raided the Igbo – Igunuko shrine, located at the Alfa Beach, Ajah, where jumbo bags of Ghanaian Loud, a strain of cannabis, weighing 2,760kg were recovered and two suspects: Gbenga Abiodun and Sunday Abiodun arrested,” the statement read.
“Another suspect, Ademola Oyelakin was also arrested same day with 770kg of the same psychoactive substance along Lagos-Ibadan expressway.”
Separately, in Plateau, Fadan Bindom, 39, was apprehended in Pilgani village with 65.85kg cannabis and 18 grams of tramadol. Another suspect, Sunday Agbata, 42, was caught in Pavwei – Rayfield Jos South LGA with 5,830 tablets and ampoules of bromazepam, diazepam, and pentazocine injection.
Additionally, NDLEA operatives in Edo state seized 640kg cannabis hidden in 80 jumbo bags of fresh vegetables at Ewu junction and arrested Austin Oruamen, 27. Adereti Kazeem, 35, was also apprehended in Obalayan, Ile-Ife, Osun state with 200 blocks of cannabis weighing 133kg.
