The Federal Government has confirmed the successful revalidation of 2.3 million households under the ongoing conditional cash transfer initiative aimed at mitigating the impact of recent economic reforms.

Director General of the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), Abisoye Coker-Odusote, announced the development during a press briefing held at the commission’s headquarters in Abuja.

Coker-Odusote stated that the revalidation, carried out through the National Social Safety Nets project, has cleared over two million households for disbursement. She noted that payments would commence soon, emphasizing the importance of accurate data verification to ensure that funds reach the intended beneficiaries.

She underscored the necessity of identity validation in administering social interventions, stressing that the process helps eliminate errors and fraud. “We don’t want to pay people who no longer exist in this world. So, the right thing must be done,” she said. Coker-Odusote reiterated the role of identity credentials in verifying and authenticating individuals in real time, ensuring the integrity and accountability of the program.
