Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule has dissolved his entire cabinet, including the Secretary to the State Government, in a move described as a “normal exercise” in the state’s political culture. This comes just three days after the governor suspended the chairman and board members of the Nasarawa State Teachers Service Commission over alleged unauthorized recruitment of over 1,000 teachers.
The dissolution affects all commissioners and the Secretary to the State Government but spares other appointees. Governor Sule’s chief press secretary, Ibrahim Addara, noted that dissolving cabinets is a common practice in Nasarawa State, allowing the governor to restructure and make adjustments.Interestingly, this isn’t the first time Governor Sule has dissolved his cabinet. He previously did so in August 2021. Addara views this move as a strategic step to reorganize the administration and tackle pressing state issues.
