
Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University holds combined convocation ceremony for 11th to 15th graduating classesThe institution celebrated academic achievements and growth during its multi-year convocation at the Igbariam campus, with graduates, faculty, alumni, and dignitaries in attendance. Governor Chukwuma Soludo commended the university’s transformation and called for greater collaboration with the private sector and local communities to accelerate development.
He acknowledged the role of late Dr. Chinwoke Mbadinuju, founder of the university, and emphasized the need to immortalize his legacy. Governor Soludo also praised all who value education as a tool for the future.Acting Vice Chancellor, Prof. Kate Omenugha, noted the university’s consistent academic calendar and thanked the governor for his support, expressing openness to partnerships that could boost educational access.
Pro-Chancellor Prof. Chidi Odinkalu highlighted the importance of intellectual dialogue and community involvement in driving university progress, while Commissioner for Education, Prof. Ngozi Chuma-Udeh, reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to enhancing education in the state.
An honorary doctorate in food science and nutrition was awarded to the governor’s wife, Mrs. Nonye Soludo, in recognition of her contributions to healthy living advocacy. She expressed her gratitude for the honour and support.Dignitaries present included Deputy Governor Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim, Speaker Somtochukwu Udeze, Rep. Paschal Agbodike, traditional rulers, and other stakeholders.
