Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Professor Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, has been appointed the new National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) following a meeting of the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) held in Abuja on Thursday.
Yilwatda, born on 8 August 1968, is a Nigerian politician from Plateau State, an engineer, and academic who currently serves as the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development. He was appointed as minister by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in October 2024.
His appointment as party chairman follows the brief acting leadership of Hon. Ali Bukar Dalori, who was tapped to lead the APC after the resignation of Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje. Dalori, the Deputy National Chairman (North), was instructed by President Tinubu to temporarily oversee the party’s affairs until the NEC could officially confirm a new chairman.
