Nollywood actor Yul Edochie has urged Nigerians to respect the decision of twin brothers Peter and Paul Okoye, formerly of the music duo P-Square, to stay apart if they wish. Yul made this statement in response to the ongoing feud between the two music stars.
Paul, also known as Rudeboy, recently announced that P-Square had broken up again, just three years after their reunion. He revealed that he had been arrested by the EFCC following a petition allegedly written by his twin brother Peter over his lifestyle. Paul recounted that during his interrogation, he was threatened with a 20-year prison sentence, and the EFCC presented his account statements during the grilling.
Peter, however, denied filing a petition against Paul. He admitted to filing a petition against their elder brother and former manager, Jude Okoye, and his wife Ifeoma Okoye. Peter explained that he took this step after discovering that millions of dollars and hundreds of millions of Naira were being secretly diverted into a secret company’s account, Northside Music, allegedly owned by Jude and his wife. Peter stated that Jude admitted to diverting the funds after being questioned and detained.
In light of this development, many Nigerians, including Peter Obi, have been calling for the brothers’ reconciliation. However, Yul Edochie, in his post on August 15, emphasized that sometimes peace of mind can come from staying apart from certain loved ones.
Yul’s Posts:
- “Having peace of mind sometimes comes from staying apart from some loved ones.”
The actor’s perspective highlights the importance of respecting individual choices for the sake of mental well-being, even in familial relationships.
