Nigerian musician Speed Darlington, whose real name is Darlington Okoye, has been arrested again by the Nigerian police in Owerri, Imo State. This was confirmed by his lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, who announced the arrest on his X account, stating that Speed Darlington was taken into custody at his show upon returning to Nigeria.

He wrote, “Our client Speed Darlington, a.k.a. AKPI, has been arrested by the Nigerian police in Owerri at his show upon return to Nigeria.”

The reasons behind Speed Darlington’s arrest are still unclear. However, this isn’t his first run-in with the law. He was previously arrested on October 4 for allegedly cyberstalking fellow musician Burna Boy and was released on bail on October 9 after spending five days in detention. Speed Darlington’s lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, has spoken out about the arrest, but the Nigerian police have yet to comment on the matter.
