With continued government and private-sector support, UDUTH’s Centre of Excellence in Urology and Nephrology is poised to transform kidney care in Nigeria, offering hope to thousands of patients in need of life-saving transplants.
This development is particularly significant given Nigeria’s healthcare challenges, including deteriorating infrastructure, inadequate compensation for healthcare workers, and limited access to quality care. To address these challenges, stakeholders are calling for increased investment in the healthcare sector, including private sector investment, to improve healthcare outcomes and reduce the need for overseas medical treatment.
