Taye Taiwo, a former standout left-back for the Super Eagles, has been inducted into Olympique Marseille’s hall of fame, a testament to his remarkable contributions to the French Ligue 1 club. During his six-year tenure with Marseille from 2005 to 2011, Taiwo played a pivotal role in the team’s success, making 271 appearances, scoring 25 goals, and providing 23 assists.

The Nigerian defender is widely regarded as one of the finest left-backs in the country’s football history, having earned 54 international caps and scoring five goals between 2004 and 2011. Taiwo’s impressive club career spanned top European teams, including AC Milan and Queens Park Rangers, before his retirement in 2019. He has since settled in France.

The induction into Marseille’s hall of fame serves as a fitting tribute to Taiwo’s dedication and achievements during his time with the club. This honor solidifies Taiwo’s legacy as a key figure in Marseille’s history, and his contributions to Nigerian football continue to inspire future generations of players.
