Afrobeats singer Chimamanda Pearl Chukwuma, popularly known as Qing Madi, has accused her former record label boss, Joy Tongo, of financial misconduct and forging her signature. The singer made the allegations during a live TikTok session, claiming that her former label, JTon Music, has been working to undermine her music career.

The controversy intensified after several tracks from her latest album, Barely Legal, were removed from streaming platforms over an alleged contract violation. Qing Madi alleged that the takedowns came after the label lost a $2 million lawsuit against her, adding that the prolonged dispute has been draining and frustrating. She claimed Tongo stole from her, forged her signature, and pursued legal action against her before allegedly resorting to removing her music following the court setback.

In response, JTon Music CEO Joy Tongo rejected the allegations, describing them as untrue and misleading. In a statement shared on Instagram, Tongo denied any wrongdoing and insisted that the legal battle between both parties remains unresolved. She further maintained that a court-issued injunction provided the legal basis for the removal of the music projects, stressing that the case has yet to proceed to trial.
