Airtel Nigeria, the country’s second-largest telecommunications operator, has made significant adjustments to its data pricing structure. The revised data prices, which were confirmed through the *312# code and on the Airtel website, show increases across various data bundles.

According to Airtel’s website, the revision aims to mitigate the impact of escalating operational costs on the company’s operations amid a challenging economic landscape.

The revised data plans include daily, weekly, and monthly packages with increased prices. For instance, the daily plans now include N50 for 40MB, N100 for 100MB, N200 for 200MB, and N350 for 1GB.

The weekly plans have also been revised, with prices starting from N350 for 350MB, N500 for 750MB plus 1GB YouTube Night, and N500 for 1GB plus 1GB YouTube Night.

The monthly plans have seen significant increases, with 3GB now costing N2,000, 4GB costing N2,500, and 8GB costing N3,000. Other adjustments include 10GB for N4,000, 13GB for N5,000, 18GB for N6,000, and 25GB for N8,000. Airtel’s call rates have also increased to 25 kobo per second from about 18 kobo per second. This development follows a similar tariff hike by MTN Nigeria, which took effect last week.

The tariff hike by Airtel Nigeria is aimed at cushioning the impact of rising operational costs, amidst a challenging economic landscape. The company has left some tariff plans untouched, such as the 5GB plan/week for N1,500, which remains unchanged.
