Renowned comedian, actor, and preacher Oluwatoyin Bayegun, popularly known as Woli Arole, has shared his concerns regarding the Nigerian gospel music industry. He expressed dismay over the growing influence of “hypocrisy, worldliness, and cabalism” within the sector.

According to Woli Arole, the selection of ministers for events is now largely based on personal connections rather than spiritual guidance. He lamented that it has become increasingly difficult to distinguish between gospel music ministers and secular artists, highlighting the need for a return to the industry’s spiritual foundations.
