A 25-year-old woman, Emmanuella Ogochukwu, has been arrested by the Lagos police for allegedly stealing her lover’s phones and bitcoins valued at approximately N15 million. The incident reportedly took place on February 17 in Okota, where Ogochukwu allegedly conspired with her younger brother, Ogbuka Tochukwu, 22, and other accomplices still at large.

According to the police, three stolen iPhones belonging to the complainant, along with N6.5 million, were recovered from the suspects and registered as evidence in the case. “Both of them confessed to the crime. All the complainants robbed phones and N6.5million were recovered and have been registered with the exhibit keeper. Investigation is still ongoing to arrest the other wanted members of the gang. Further development will be communicated,” spokesman Chief Superintendent of Police Benjamin Hundeyin said yesterday.

In a separate operation over the weekend, police arrested suspected armed robbers and recovered an automatic pistol. The suspects, Emmanuel Cletus, 32, and Adegor Joshua, 27, were apprehended around 4 a.m. by a patrol team in Sangotedo. A pistol and five rounds of live ammunition were seized. Additionally, on March 14, police operatives in Iju arrested suspected robbers and fraudsters accused of targeting unsuspecting victims. Following multiple complaints, armed officers tracked down the suspects, leading to their arrest, according to CSP Hundeyin.
