Tamilore Odunsi, a 23-year-old British-Nigerian nursing student, tragically lost her life just days before she was set to graduate in Houston, Texas. Tamilore, who moved to the US to train as a nurse, was found dead in her student apartment after her father’s friend alerted the police due to unsuccessful attempts to reach her. When officers arrived, they discovered blood on the rear patio and forced entry into the apartment, finding Tamilore in the kitchen with fatal injuries. A flatmate, who had only moved in a few weeks earlier, was also found with stab wounds and was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
Tamilore, known on social media as “Tamidollars” on TikTok, had 30,000 followers. Her last post, made three days before her death on April 21, showed her smiling and relaxed in her room, excited for her upcoming graduation and the summer ahead. She had written, “23 years old. BSN grad in 2 weeks. Summer is 14 days away. Starting to look human again.”
Family and friends have since started a GoFundMe campaign to raise funds for repatriation and funeral expenses. The campaign has already surpassed £28,000 of its £40,000 target. Tamilore’s sister, Georgina Odunsi, paid a heartfelt tribute, describing her as a “beautiful soul, full of light, ambition, and kindness,” and a devoted Christian who was deeply involved in her church community, always eager to serve others with grace. The investigation into her death continues, with the circumstances surrounding the stabbing still unclear.
