The Kano State Police Command has apprehended 18-year-old Saudat Jibril for allegedly killing her husband, Salisu Idris.Reports from PUNCH Online indicate that Jibril is accused of slitting her husband’s throat with a sharp knife in the early hours of Tuesday. According to a statement from the state’s Police Spokesman, Abdullahi Kiyawa, the incident took place around 12:35 a.m. in Farawa Quarters, Kano.

“The suspect, Saudat Jibril, an 18-year-old female of Farawa Quarters, allegedly cut off the throat of her husband, Salisu Idris, a 30-year-old male, with a sharp knife,” the statement read. Following the incident, Kano’s Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Bakori, promptly dispatched detectives to the scene. The victim was rushed to Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital, where he was pronounced dead by medical personnel.

The police confirmed that the suspect has been taken into custody at the Criminal Investigation Department, Homicide Section, and will be charged with culpable homicide.Commissioner Bakori emphasized that such criminal activities will not be tolerated in the state and assured that a thorough investigation would be conducted to ensure justice is served.
