Dangote Cement has announced that over 2,000 prospective drivers have completed its recruitment process in the past two months, as part of efforts to strengthen road safety across the country. Speaking at the company’s 2025 Annual Drivers’ Retreat, Group Managing Director Arvind Pathak said more than 900 drivers took part in a recent training exercise at the DCP Ibese Plant in Ogun State, while another round is scheduled for Obajana, Kogi State, next week.

He explained that every Dangote Cement driver undergoes a rigorous process, including licence verification, guarantor background checks, medical and vision tests, drug and alcohol screening, as well as a two-week intensive programme covering 12 safety modules, practical driving assessments, and written exams.

Pathak stressed that only drivers who meet all required standards are certified to operate Dangote vehicles. He added that the yearly retreat reinforces the company’s Absolute Safer Road Policy and ensures drivers remain committed to safety, ethical conduct, and transparency.

He reaffirmed Dangote’s cooperation with security agencies in investigating road incidents and said the company consistently adopts recommendations to improve public safety.
