The Super Eagles of Nigeria have arrived in Fès, Morocco, ahead of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, landing in the host city on Thursday night.Head coach Éric Chelle and his squad made the journey after spending five days in a training camp in Cairo, Egypt.
As part of their preparations, Nigeria played a friendly match against the Pharaohs of Egypt on Tuesday, losing 2–1 at the Cairo International Stadium.Confirming their arrival, the Super Eagles posted on their official X account: “We have arrived in Morocco, ready to add a star to our crown!”
The three-time African champions are expected to intensify preparations on Friday as they fine-tune strategies in pursuit of a fourth AFCON title. Beşiktaş midfielder Wilfred Ndidi has reportedly been appointed the new captain and will lead the team’s campaign. Nigeria have been placed in Group C alongside Tanzania, Tunisia, and Uganda. The Super Eagles will begin their AFCON 2025 campaign against Tanzania on Tuesday, December 23, before taking on Tunisia on December 27 and Uganda on December 30.
