A recent report by Imperial Citizenship Global shows that Nigerians rank among the nationalities most likely to face visa denials when applying to travel overseas. The findings reveal that Nigeria’s visa rejection rate stands at approximately 48.5%.

The report highlights the difficulties Nigerian applicants face in securing international travel permits, citing strict visa regulations and increased scrutiny as major factors behind the high denial rates.

Experts suggest that this trend underscores the urgent need for stronger diplomatic efforts and enhanced bilateral agreements to ease travel barriers for Nigerians. Imperial Citizenship Global, a consultancy specializing in immigration and citizenship services, compiled the ranking based on data gathered from various embassies and consulates.

The elevated rejection rate has sparked concerns about fairness and accessibility for Nigerians seeking international opportunities, at a time when global mobility remains crucial for economic growth and development.
