The Nigerian Railway Corporation has unveiled special train schedules on its major routes to make travel easier for passengers during the Eid el Fitr festivities.According to the agency, train capacity will be expanded and extra trips added on important corridors to handle the expected rise in passenger traffic across the country.

For the Lagos–Ibadan route, three services will run on Thursday, March 19. Trains will depart from Mobolaji Johnson Station at 7:40 am, 1:40 pm, and 4:00 pm. Departures from Obafemi Awolowo Station are scheduled for 8:00 am, 10:50 am, and 4:30 pm. The corporation explained that this one-day adjustment is aimed at easing heavy passenger movement, after which the normal timetable will resume. On the Abuja–Kaduna line, two services will operate on Thursday, March 19. From Friday, March 20 through Monday, March 23, the schedule increases to three trips daily, giving travelers more flexibility throughout the celebration period.

The corporation also announced a partnership with the Osun State Government to run the Imole Special Train on the narrow-gauge line from Iddo Station to Osogbo. Sponsored by the state government, the service will transport Osun indigenes at no cost as part of its Sallah program, while the rail corporation supplies the trains, technical expertise, and operational management.

Along the Warri–Itakpe corridor, services will run three times a week. Departures from Warri to Itakpe are set for Sundays, Tuesdays, and Fridays at 8:00 am. Return journeys will leave Itakpe on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays at 12 noon. Thursdays are reserved for maintenance work.
