Singer J Martins has commented on the ongoing tension between P-Square twins, Peter and Paul Okoye, pointing out that the brothers now reportedly celebrate their birthdays on different dates. In a post shared on social media on Tuesday, J Martins said he has maintained close relationships with both artists for over 20 years.
He expressed confusion over why one of the twins would change his birthday after so many years of sharing the same date with his brother. Addressing Peter (Mr P) and Paul (Rudeboy) directly, he urged them to resolve their differences privately, saying that public disagreements like this bring embarrassment to the Igbo community.
Martins wrote, “These are my brothers for more than two decades, I still don’t understand why one will just wake up decades to change his own birthday separate from his twin brother? @PeterPsquare @rudeboypsquare can we fix this stuff inside our house & not bring this shame on Ndi Igbo nke anyi”.
Peter and Paul Okoye, born on November 18, 1981, rose to fame as P-Square, becoming one of Africa’s most successful music duos before their split in 2017.The twins reunited in 2021, but reports of fresh disagreements resurfaced again in 2024. J Martins, who has worked with P-Square in the past, has continued to maintain personal ties with both brothers over the years.
