The murdered musician, Okezie Chiekezie Mbah

Protests in Enugu State intensified after the alleged police murder of local musician Okezie Chiekezie Mbah known as Igbo Jah, prompting the arrest of the involved inspector and a thorough investigation.

Enugu police spokesperson Daniel Ndukwe confirmed the probe as hundreds of residents violently demonstrated, attempting to set the anti-cult headquarters ablaze.

Protesters blocked roads, burned tires, and chanted slogans in Onu Asata and other areas, using smoke as a symbol of outrage.

Police deployed teargas to disperse the crowd, escalating tensions. The community demands accountability for Igbo Jah’s death, with local authorities urging calm.
