Gospel Artiste Big Bolaji Dies at Age 50

The family of Bolaji Olarewaju, widely known as Big Bolaji, has announced the passing of the renowned singer after a brief illness.In a statement issued on Saturday, the family confirmed that Bolaji passed away on Easter Saturday, 19th April 2025.

The statement reads: “With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Bolaji Olarewaju, affectionately known as ‘Big B,’ a beloved father, husband, brother, ordained Pastor in the RCCG, a prominent figure in both the church community and the music industry. Bolaji left us on Easter Saturday, following a short illness.

“His departure leaves a profound void in our hearts that words cannot express. “Bolaji’s life was a reflection of his passion for music, his steadfast faith, and his unwavering commitment to uplifting others. His legacy lives on, not only through the music he created but through the countless lives he touched and the immeasurable joy he spread.”

We find comfort in knowing that his absence with us is now his presence with the Lord. The indelible impact he had on everyone privileged to know him will remain forever in our hearts.”

As we go through this difficult time, we kindly ask for privacy as we mourn as a family. We are incredibly grateful for the outpouring of love and support we’ve received and ask that you continue to keep us in your prayers. “Details regarding funeral arrangements will be shared at a later time as we come together to celebrate Bolaji’s extraordinary life and legacy. “Thank you for honoring our wishes during this challenging time. With heartfelt appreciation, The Family of Bolaji Olarewaju.”
