Ossai Ovie Success, Senior Special Assistant on Media to Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, has announced a special package for Comfort Emmanson, the Ibom Air passenger recently freed from Kirikiri Prison. In an Instagram post on Wednesday, Ossai revealed that he had secured a job in Delta State for Emmanson with a monthly salary of ₦500,000. He also promised to sponsor an all-expenses-paid trip to the state, including flight tickets, a stay in a five-star hotel, guided tours, and a ticket to the Delta Social Media Summit scheduled for August 28 in Asaba.
Ossai described the offer as a way to help Emmanson relax and recover after her ordeal. He urged anyone in contact with her to tell her to send him a direct message on Instagram to claim the package. Emmanson, for her part, broke her silence shortly after her release, saying she was still in pain due to how she was treated. In a post on her Instagram handle, she thanked her supporters for their prayers and love, adding that she needed rest and medical treatment before sharing her side of the story.
She was arrested on August 10, 2025, after an altercation on an Ibom Air flight, accused of refusing to switch off her mobile phone before take-off and later assaulting the purser. She was arraigned the next day on a five-count charge and remanded at Kirikiri Correctional Facility pending the fulfillment of her bail conditions. The case gained national attention after videos emerged showing her assaulting a flight attendant and being restrained by security. Magistrate Olanrewaju Salami later dismissed the charges following a request by the police to withdraw the matter.
Aviation Minister Festus Keyamo condemned the release of the viral footage, describing it as a breach of protocol, and vowed sanctions against those involved. While some, including human rights activist Aisha Yesufu, criticized the handling of the case as selective justice, Keyamo later confirmed that all criminal complaints against Emmanson had been dropped and Ibom Air’s lifetime flying ban on her lifted.
