Billionaire businessman Femi Otedola played the doting father as he gave his daughter, Temi, in marriage to Nigerian singer and entrepreneur, Oluwatosin Oluwole Ajibade, popularly known as Mr. Eazi, last month. In a video from the Iceland ceremony that went viral, Otedola urged his daughter to prioritise her marriage above all else, stressing the importance of love, patience, and unity. “You found a great guy, very great guy, blessed guy. He’s come from a very decent family. One thing I’ll advise you… you have to succumb to the whims and caprices of your husband,” he said.
He praised the couple for their entrepreneurial drive, describing them as a perfect match. Otedola encouraged them to resolve challenges privately and to keep their union strong. He also presented them with a wedding gift, urging them to continue excelling in their ventures: “You’re both entrepreneurs. Out-think, out-manoeuvre, and out-spend. You’ll be great people.”
Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, who was also present, offered words of advice to the couple. He described Temi as an industrious woman and commended Eazi for his business achievements across 18 African countries. Dangote urged them to focus on each other and keep their marriage free from external interference. “When you get married, you drop friends, and now it’s just between the two of you.
Sort it out amongst yourselves,” he advised, adding that he believed the couple would go on to achieve even greater financial success. The wedding in Iceland followed earlier ceremonies in Monaco on May 9 and a traditional ceremony at the Otedola family’s Dubai residence in July.
