Media personality Shade Ladipo has issued a public apology to singer Tiwa Savage over the critical remarks she made following the leak of Savage’s private video in 2021.In a post shared on Instagram, Ladipo admitted that she unfairly judged Tiwa at the time, saying she initially blamed the singer for the incident. After some reflection, however, she acknowledged that her reaction was misplaced and unsupportive.
In her apology, Ladipo expressed regret and empathy, admitting that she now understands the pain Tiwa went through. She confessed that it was wrong to fault the singer for something that happened to her.
“I was one of the people who criticised Tiwa Savage when that tape surfaced. I’ll be honest, I blamed her. I thought, how can you be over 40—because we’re the same age—and still get caught up in situations like this? But looking back, I don’t know why I placed so much blame on her for something that wasn’t her fault. I felt her pain, and I just want to say, I love you and I’m sorry,” Ladipo said.
It will be recalled that in October 2021, Tiwa Savage revealed she was being blackmailed over a private video involving herself and her partner, which later became public.
