Olakunle Churchill, former husband of Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh, has confirmed that they have reconciled, describing the development as a healing process rooted in forgiveness and a renewed resolve to jointly raise their son, King Andre. Churchill disclosed this in a statement posted on his Instagram page on Sunday, coming a day after Dikeh announced publicly that peace had returned to their relationship after nearly 10 years of public disputes and legal battles. He recounted receiving a call from his son for the first time, saying the moment was deeply emotional. According to him, hearing King Andre call him “Daddy” was a powerful reminder of faith and divine intervention.
Looking back on the prolonged conflict that followed their separation, Churchill said his faith played a key role in helping him find clarity and closure. He explained that spiritual guidance brought humility and understanding, making reconciliation possible. He further stated that forgiveness had marked the beginning of a fresh phase in their relationship, noting that both he and Dikeh had agreed to put past conflicts behind them. He said their focus is now on peaceful and respectful co-parenting, with the shared goal of raising their son in love and care.
Churchill expressed appreciation for the progress made so far, saying the reconciliation has enabled him to rebuild a meaningful bond with his son. He added that he is optimistic about a future guided by cooperation, mutual respect and peace. He also praised Dikeh for her role as a mother, thanking her publicly for taking good care of their child. His confirmation came shortly after Dikeh released an emotional statement announcing what she described as a “divine restoration” following nearly a decade of strained relations characterised by public allegations, court cases and custody disputes.
Tonto Dikeh and Olakunle Churchill got married in 2015 in a highly publicised wedding, but their union ended less than two years later under intense media scrutiny. They have one child together, King Andre Churchill, and their post-divorce disputes have remained one of Nigeria’s most prominent and widely discussed celebrity feuds.
