The Nigerian Army has neutralised seven terrorists, arrested 27 suspects, and recovered stolen crude oil in a series of coordinated nationwide operations. The strikes, carried out across the North East, North West, North Central, and South-South regions, targeted insurgents, economic saboteurs, and criminal networks.

According to a post on its X account, the Army noted that in the North East, troops of Sector 3 Operation HADIN KAI conducted a precision cordon-and-search operation in Anguwan Church, Monguno, Borno State, resulting in the arrest of 12 suspects linked to terror logistics and intelligence networks. “Concurrently, 192 Battalion ambushed ISWAP/JAS elements along the Gwoza–Limankara axis, neutralizing three terrorists and recovering an AK-47 rifle with five rounds of ammunition. Troops of 25 Brigade, Damboa, also neutralized a terrorist attempting to infiltrate their position under false pretences,” it added.

It further stated that troops under Operation ENDURING PEACE in Kaduna State raided a terrorist hideout in Kauru Local Government Area, eliminating two insurgents responsible for recent civilian attacks. “In Plateau State, four suspects linked to the murder of two civilians in Riyom Local Government Area were apprehended, while Operation FANSAN YAMMA in Niger State neutralized a terrorist scout and recovered a motorcycle, mobile phone, and other operational items.

“The South-South region witnessed coordinated anti-economic sabotage operations targeting illegal oil refining and black market activities,” the Army said. It further reported that in Akwa Ibom State, troops of 2 Brigade arrested three illegal miners engaged in black sand trading. “Meanwhile, 144 Battalion in Abia State uncovered an illegal crude refining site containing over 1,000 litres of stolen oil. Troops of 34 Artillery Brigade also dismantled another refining hub in Ohaji/Egbema, Imo State, seizing six drums of stolen crude oil and a canoe used for transportation.

“In Delta State, 90 Amphibious Battalion intercepted three suspects, including an impostor dressed in military camouflage, during a checkpoint in Sapele,” it noted. It recovered fake military ranks, mobile phones, and charms, with the suspects now under investigation for prosecution. According to the post, these simultaneous and coordinated operations underscore the Nigerian Army’s revitalised combat posture under the Chief of Army Staff’s leadership, reflecting a renewed commitment to confronting all threats to national security.

The Army has assured Nigerians that this intensified phase of operations marks a turning point in the fight against terrorism, banditry, and oil theft, emphasizing its determination to restore peace, protect citizens, and safeguard national sovereignty. Members of the public are urged to continue providing credible and timely information to support military operations as the Army works to reclaim all national space from criminal elements.
