A viral video captures the shocking moment a student at Nnamdi Azikiwe University (Unizik) physically confronted a lecturer who interrupted her video recording. The incident occurred in a corridor within the student’s department.
The student, who was dancing in the corridor, was interrupted by a lecturer, identified as Dr. Chukwudi Michael Okoye from the Faculty of Arts, who needed to pass through. The lecturer reportedly tapped the student and said, “Excuse me.”
However, the student took offense to the interruption and allegedly insulted the lecturer after he passed. The lecturer, feeling disrespected, returned to confront the student, leading to a physical altercation.
According to a statement allegedly from the lecturer, which has been widely shared on WhatsApp groups within the school, the lecturer reached for the student’s phone, prompting her to react aggressively. The student allegedly bit the lecturer on both arms.

The student involved in the altercation is a 300-level History and International Studies major. Interestingly, she is reportedly the daughter of a female lecturer in the Engineering department at the same institution.
The incident has sparked widespread discussion and debate within the university community, with many students and faculty members weighing in on the matter.
While some have condemned the student’s behavior, others have argued that the lecturer overreacted and should have handled the situation differently. The university authorities have yet to release an official statement on the incident, but it is expected that disciplinary actions will be taken against the student involved.
