The Public Relations Officer of the command, Olusola Ayanlade, confirmed the incident in a phone conversation with Channels Television.Ayanlade stated that the university registrar died in the early hours of Thursday, July 17, and the case was reported at the Fanibi, Akure Division of the Command.

“I can confirm to you that the man was killed. From the information I have at my disposal, two men came out of the bush, and they forced a substance into another person’s mouth. Meanwhile, I cannot confirm to you that the substance was poisonous; an autopsy will do that,” he said.

He added that the case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigative Department for further investigation and urged anyone with relevant information about the perpetrators to assist the police.

The university’s Public Relations Officer, Isaac Oluyi, also confirmed the death of the registrar, Adeniran, describing the event as shocking and stating that it has plunged the university community into mourning.
